School has finally started and everyone is trying to get back into their routines. But don’t get too settled down yet, because Marshall County has tons of events going on this weekend!

The annual Bourbon Summerfest kicks off this weekend! Yes, another festival is taking place in Marshall County! Eat delicious food, attend the little miss pageant, and head over to the car show! The Bourbon Summerfest is also having a parade and fireworks!! The festivities will begin on Friday night in Bourbon. Take the time to enjoy the last days of summer with your family, friends, and the town of Bourbon.

Culver has had a lot of summer events these last couple months, but they’re not done yet! Watch as participants in the Lake Max Triathlon swim, bike, and run along the gorgeous Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver this coming Saturday. Cheer them on to the finish line and celebrate life with over 500 adults and children at this event hosted by Culver Academies. All proceeds are given to local charity. It’s going to be a beautiful weekend here in Marshall County and you won’t want to miss out!

Go support United Way of Marshall County with Taste of Marshall County! Starting at 5:00 PM, Taste of Marshall County will feature food tastings from across Marshall County.  Including a range of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Along with a separate Beer/Wine Garden. Live music will entertain attendees throughout the evening. Taking place at the Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park! Need some exercise before you attend Taste of Marshall County? Well, Taste of Marshall County is having a 5k & 1 mile run/walk. All the proceeds will support the fundraising efforts of United Way of Marshall County. This is a chip timed race. The race starts and ends at Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park!

Mark your calendars, invite your family and friends, and unwind with a month of musical entertainment provided by Plymouth’s mayor. Mayor’s Month of Music was a great time last weekend, and this weekend will be even better! Mayor’s Month of Music with MGB will be this weekend event. You’re encouraged to bring your lawn chair, pack a picnic, and enjoy the musical variety they have in store for you. Don’t miss out, and don’t forget to take pictures. Pictures always last a lifetime.

The weather doesn’t seem to be cooling down just yet, so you might as well get your swim on! The Plymouth Public Pool is open till August 19th. Their hours are Monday-Saturday 12 PM to 6 PM, and they’re closed on Sundays. The Plymouth pool is friendly and clean, and the perfect place to take your friends and family on a hot summer day. If you’re looking to go to a beach, the Culver beach will be open till August 12th! The best part about Culver Beach is this sandy shore is located right on the beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee. Make sure to head out, and soak up plenty of rays before the weather cools down!

Summer time calls for a break. Everyone works so hard during the school year, so they need that free time. Marshall County has given us the opportunity to have the best summer experience out there. You can never get bored on a summer day or night, and you can never get bored here in Marshall County. I hope the next couple months of fall and winter is a great time for all of you!
