End of Summer “Must Do’s”!

Summer doesn’t have much time left, but there’s still plenty of time to complete the ‘must do’ list below!

1) Walk Culver Academies

Located in Culver, Indiana is the gorgeous campus of the Culver Military Academy (CMA). It is a boy and girl military academy with students from all over the world. Aside from it’s amazing diversity of students it’s a beautiful place to walk through for site seeing as well. There you will find a chapel, naval building, sail boats, and the well known woodcraft camp!

2) Visit the Potawatomi Wildlife Park

The Potawatomi Tribe once called this region their home, before they were force west in the 1830′s. This quiet 317 acre preserve along the Tippecanoe River includes the site of a rare post-removal Potawatomi village that existed until the early 1850s. Images depict its past, as well as an 1834 cabin, the oldest structure in Marshall County. Displays in the Interpretive Center give a glimpse of the area’s rich history and nature. Visitors can hike five miles of trails through woodlands and prairie. You may spot turkey, waterfowl and deer along the way, as well as a wide variety of birds. They are also the home of the first official dark sky observatory and have multiple public astronomy viewings a year!

Before the cold sets in don’t miss your last opportunity to visit one of our local splash pads. We have three splash pads located throughout Marshall County! Bremen has a pool and splash pad in their local park. Bourbon also has a splash pad in their local park! The third splash pad is located in Plymouth’s River Park Square!
