Celebrating Mother Earth!!

We have been celebrating Mother Earth all week long! The following events are all free, fun, and very educational! Come on out for the last weekend of Earth Hug Boogie this Saturday and Sunday! We also invite you to check out the event on Sunday at River Park Square to celebrate Earth Day!

Located at Wild Rose Moon this Saturday, April 21st, you can to watch or participate in the Earth Hug Boogie Dancers! You can dance for the Earth as Marcia Heintzberger's Dancers and Mewsette Cartwright's Dancers, Destiny Cartwright, Lucy Carmona, Lorelei Burdick, and Joseph Cartwright do The Junkyard Jive and The Earth Hug Boogie. Then, if you're ready to boogie yourself, come learn how to do the Earth Hug Boogie yourself with these marvelous teachers!!! So much energy and life-giving movement that will all be happening at The Wild Rose Moon.

You can also look forward to the Earth Hug Boogie Children’s Concert from 1:00pm to 2:00pm… "George's Brother will be bringing an earth-friendly bag of Children's Songs with him all the way from the Tibetan Plateau. Passed to him by his brother, who learned them from secretive mountain yaks, the songs feature such topics as talking trees, butterflies, and birds--along with other things that are just nuts. Come prepared to engage in silly things and the collective wisdom of asps."

Other events for Saturday include the Earth Day Paper Shred, Mayor’s Youth Council, Creative Canvas, Model Trains, the Decorated Rain Barrel Drawing and Sacred Sands & Boogie Band! The Earth Day paper shred will take place at the Recycle Depot from 8:00am to 12:00 pm and the Mayor’s Youth Council will be located at River Park Square from 8:30am to 10:30 am! Creative Canvas is a “Go Fly a Kite” scene and pre-registration is $10, this event will be located at Plymouth Public Library from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm! Model Trains are always a kid favorite and this year it will be a Disney Themed Train Room, Lego Club… this is a Virtual Sandbox event and will take place at the Marshall County Museum from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm! The Decorated Rain Barrel Drawing is at 12:00 pm located at the Recycle Depot, and the final event of the year is the Sacred Sands & Boogie Band; celebrating the History & Ecology of the Indiana Dunes from 8:00 to 10:00 pm!

We would love to see you at River Park Square from 1:00pm to 5:00pm On Sunday, April 22nd for “Earth Day in River Park Square!” We look forward to see you out on this free afternoon of fun in River Park Square! They’ll be music, dance, drums, and prayers…all a testament to God’s beautiful creation and precious home, Planet Earth! Potawatomi Nature Preserve will give a wildflower walk, there will be a tree-giveaway, a tent where you can make a bird feeder or a percussion instrument, and we’ll have some great talks from Bonnie Zimmer from Heartland Artists and Marianne Peters from the Recycle Center. The Boogie Band from Wild Rose Moon will be sharing The Earth Hug Boogie tune and Marcia Heintzberger and Mewsette Cartwright will have their dancers showing us how to do all the right moves. Jacquee Dickey with Drum Ananda will be creating a Drum Circle so feel free to grab your hand drum and join in with the rhythm. It’s the perfect day to show your love for mother earth.
